Prestwood School

Hello, my name is Kristen Reighley and I feel so lucky to be a teacher here at Prestwood! This is my 8th year of teaching. I have experience teaching 4th and 5th grades along with 2nd, kindergarten, and now 1st! I graduated from Chico State University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Liberal Studies. I received my credential from CSU Chico as well. I was born and raised in Santa Rosa, California. I visited Prestwood often as a child with my Aunt who is also a teacher at Prestwood(the wonderful Mrs. Lely!). I never imagined I would be so lucky as to be a teacher here! Besides teaching I love to spend time with family and friends, paint, take pictures, and travel. I visit my parents in Santa Rosa often. My Mother is a teacher at J.X. Wilson Elentary in Santa Rosa. She often shares great teaching ideas with me. I like to go to car shows with my Dad Jerry who has two 1970's Chevelles. I have a younger brother, Garin who lives in Southern California. Garin is hearing impaired and one way our family communicates with him is with sign language. I often teach sign language to my students. I have a few pets as well; a calico cat Bailey and 3 hermit crabs named Shelly, Fireball, and Tiny (also known as our classroom pets).
